1. 60% of air-conditioning problems arise from poor installation.

Besides equipment problems which are the result poor manufacturing quality, the most common complaints heard after a system is installed are:
a. Condensation on the insulation of the pipes.
b. The aircon does not cool the environment enough.
c. Water leaks from the unit.
d. The unit is noisy.

2. There are some installers in town who start their own business with barely enough experience.

Be sure you are not employing an installer with teams of workers who are only BCA certified. BCA certification ensures the units are installed with proper brackets but does not ensure experience air-conditioning or refrigeration skills. Trying to lower your costs by employing cheap labour may lead to more problems for you as well as the aircon manufacturer. More than experience, the installer needs certified refrigeration or air-conditioning skills.

3. Skilled labour can be hard to find these days. As such, some installer have basic training only and do not have the right skills needed to get a job done properly.

A junior installer who had been assisting a qualified installer might gain some basic knowledge but might not understand the basic refrigeration principles or know the necessary technique causes condensation as a result or poor vapour barrier seal.

Some of these installer may not even understand the principle behind ensuring sufficient gradient in the installation of the drainage pipe for the gravity flow of the condensate water. In such a case, you might have water flowing back into the room instead of flowing out through the drainpipe.

4. Installation costs depend on the level of skills and experience of the installer.

An installer may charge you less on installation costs. In trying to cut his own costs, the installer may not have properly evacuated and charged up the system. He may even use the pre-charged gas in the system, resulting in insufficient cooling for the room. Furthermore, if the connections are not tightened to the right torque, gas leaks may occur.

5. Material costs have been going up and yet installation costs have fallen.

Watch out for the quality of the insulation and copper piping used. Our system now uses environmental friendly refrigerant and operates at a higher pressure while delivering  lower suction temperatures. Using inferior quality insulation may lead to condensation problems while using thinner pipes can result in pipe leaks when the higher pressure finds the weakness in the tubing.

So choose a LG Certified Installer and be assured of:
1. Qualified and trained installers
2. The use of manufacturer-approved materials
3. Proper installation without call backs
4. Comfort without hassles

When your installer arrives, insist on seeing his Certified Installer card to be sure he is qualified to do an excellent job for you.
